Timely turns 5

Turning 5 is a big deal. Last week the team reminisced about our own 5th birthdays, and shared some cute pictures. Most 5 year olds will experience their first day at school, their first steps into a brand new world. They’ll learn new things, make new friends, and grow into the person they’ll be for the rest of their lives. Timely will be doing the same, in a way.

You may have noticed we’ve been writing quite a few ‘welcome to the team’ blog posts lately. Timely is growing fast, and is ready to take some important steps of its own. It’s a big world out there and we’re on a mission to get salon and spas around the globe discovering how Timely can help them run their business like a boss.

I asked a few of the old hats what the last few years has been like for them on the timely rocket ship. Here’s what they had to say:

“I started in Timely’s first year and there were only 6 of us at that point. 4 years later we have 40 amazing people and Timely just gets better and better. I’m super proud of what we’ve accomplished in just 5 years and most importantly, we have a brilliant app that our customers love.”

“When I think back over the last 5 years of Timely, I am amazed and in awe of the people in our team today and the thriving business that we have ALL created and added to. We really have learnt and grown as people with every challenge and success reached in the last 5 years. Its been super fun so far. Can’t wait to see where we can go next.”

“What a whirlwind ride it’s been! I have loved working with the Techbots and helping contribute to the app over that time. It’s exciting seeing so many new faces joining as the company grows. Can’t wait to see what the next year brings!”

“Thinking back over Timely’s first 5 years, and it’s all about the humans I’ve met. Not just the awesome Timely crew, but the thousands and thousands of small business owners I’ve talked to – the passion they have for what they do and the people they help every day has been infectious!”

“I joined a team of 7 which has fluctuated in size as new positions popped up for our other team members. Our team leader is starting a new office in another country, one of our team members is moving to Portugal, another is working from the UK for a few months, our job titles have changed, there’s another baby on the way, and that’s just the sales team!”

“It’s been an absolute privilege to work with such a talented group of people over the last 5 years of Timely’s life. Every year has come with it’s own opportunities and challenges, but the one constant throughout has been a huge amount of fun. I can’t wait to see where Timely goes from here!”

Justin

“When I think back over the last 5 years of Timely, I barely remember what the phrase ‘morning commute’ means. I also struggle to remember how I got around the house without a robe. Hitting our first 50 customers was a big deal at the time, and was celebrated with an assortment of 50 cent hip-hop memes.”

Of course, no 5th birthday would be complete without cake. So staff in Dunedin, Wellington and Auckland got together in their respective cities and celebrated with some Timely themed baking.

I’d like to thank everyone that has contributed to Timely over the last 5 years. From staff who have been on the rocket ship since year 1, to those who just boarded last week, I’d like to thank you for your continued support, hard work, enthusiasm, and willingness to get stuck in. To our customers, thank you for your loyalty, and helpful feedback. Our customers are our sun, and without them we wouldn’t have made it to our 5th birthday.

Finally to all those who don’t work for, or even use Timely, but still help spread the word. Friends, family, acquaintances, supporters, and fans, thank you for your encouragement and advocacy.

Here’s to another 5 years!
